Day Camp

UniTy offers full day programming to school aged children (from K to 6) on any PD day and some school holidays, and Day Camps during school closures.

Throughout the day children are engaged in a variety of activities such as Dodge-ball, bounce house play, playground visits, scavenger hunts, interactive games and much more. Why not allow us to entertain your child on their down days and get rid of some of that pent up energy. Come play the UniTy way.

We ask that parents bring their children prepared to go outside, as we may take a trip to the playground or explore the outdoors, weather permitting.

All children must come with a packed lunch and snacks for the day. We do have a microwave onsite to heat food.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS This Release Agreement applies to the use of all facilities, premises and equipment and participation in all activities, programs, services or events mentioned on the UniTy Recreation Space Website, or any/all related advertising, including all participation in activity classes, fitness programs, sport clubs, sporting events, practice sessions or social activities and all other related activities (all of which are hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Programs”)
DISCLAIMER I acknowledge that UniTy Recreation Space Ltd., its directors, contractors, employees, coaches, instructors, trainers, volunteers, members and representatives, (all hereafter collectively referred to as “UniTy”), are not responsible for any injury, loss or damage of any kind sustained by any person while registered and/or participating in any and all Programs; including injury, loss or damage which might be caused by the negligence of UniTy.
ASSUMPTION OF RISKS In consideration of participation in any and all Programs, I acknowledge that I am aware of, and freely accept all risks, dangers and hazards associated with being a participant in the Programs, including the risk of severe or fatal injury to myself or others. These risks include, but are not limited to: a) all manner of injuries resulting in muscular and soft tissue damage including bruises, scrapes and cuts, that arise from executing strenuous and demanding physical techniques, contact with other participants and failure in proper use of equipment either by myself and/or other participants; b) all manner of injuries resulting in sprains, dislocations, concussions, broken bones, heart attack, stroke, spinal injury and/or tendonitis; c) all manner of head, facial, eye and/or dental injuries; d) all manner of medical problems resulting from heat exhaustion, dehydration, asthma, communicable diseases, skin rashes, cramps, chemical poisoning, and/or lack of fitness or conditioning as well as any medical problem or injury resulting from exposure to weather conditions, allergens, noxious gases, electrocution, or drowning; e) risks that are associated with increased fatigue due to participation; f) all manner of injures and/or death that could result from a physical confrontation whether caused by myself or someone else; g) all manner of injuries and/or death that may result from collision with other participants whether in water, on foot, on bikes, or within motor vehicles and/or buses; h) all manner of injuries and/or death that may result from any equipment deployed in the Programs including, without limitation, loss or injury arising from the use, misuse, malfunction or breakdown of any equipment; i) Negligence on the part of UniTy , including the failure by UniTy to safeguard or protect me from the risks referred to above or any other risk arising from the Programs.

FULL DAY RECREATION PROGRAM

Professional Development (PD), Early Dismissals, and Non-Statutory Holidays

This program is offered on days when the parents have to work and the children have scheduled Professional Development (PD) days off school or a holiday that’s not necessarily observed by many industries.

You must submit this completed registration form electronically to melanie@unityrec.ca. Due to space being limited, submission of a registration form does not mean that a child will be granted space in the requested camp email confirmation of acceptance will be sent.

Payment: UniTy requires camp payment to be received the Friday prior to the start of camp. Program payments can be made by EMT to melanie@unityrec.ca

Discontinuation Policy: Once registered, to officially withdraw, a parent/guardian must provide 2 weeks notice by emailing melanie@unityrec.ca. Verbal notification and/or non-attendance will NOT constitute discontinuation.

Absence notice: If the student will be absent for any reason, a parent/guardian must advise UniTy via email at melanie@unityrec.ca

Late Pick-Up Fee: If for some reason you are unable to pick the child/chldren up on time, you must phone Melanie at (709) 327-5612. When the child is picked up late, the payer will be charged a $10 Late Pick Up Fee at the start of every ten (15) minute increment past the scheduled pick-up time of 4:00PM

Unless UniTy is otherwise advised in writing by a parent/guardian, the parent(s)/guardian(s) permit the child/children to participate in all camp activities including supervised offsite trips. All students in attendance must participate in all scheduled activities and arrive at UniTy with the proper attire required to participate in the activities scheduled for the day.

UniTy is not responsible for any student’s personal possessions that may become lost, stolen, or broken while attending the program.

During pick up and drop off, the child/children must be signed in/out of the program by a parent/guardian or one of the people listed on the registration form as authorized persons other than parents/guardians who are permitted to pick the child/children up from UniTy. If the UniTy staff does not know the person picking the student up from the program, the person will be asked to show photo identification before the student is released to him or her. A child is not permitted to leave the facility by himself or herself unless a parent/guardian provides written permission to the administrator.

UniTy promotes an atmosphere of safety and mutual respect and will not tolerate inappropriate conduct or behavior. Violation of these principles may result in immediate termination of the Childs enrollment.

For the purpose of advertising, UniTy may photograph or video the children as they partake in program activities. Such photographs or video may be used by UniTy for publicity purposes without the student’s name attached unless a parent/guardian otherwise advises UniTy in writing.

Summer Camp 2025 Enrollment Form

Unity is excited to offer Summer camps for the entire Summer or on a weekly basis. Our Camp is being offered to children going into Kindergarten 2025 through to Grade 6.

Ensure you give your child the summer camp experience they deserve. Children will participate in a variety of recreational activities to ensure they remain entertained the whole day through.

Some of our activities include Dodgeball, Playground Visits, Splash pad Visits, Agriculture experiences, Nature walks, Group Games, Bouncy castles, Scavenger hunts, Arts & Crafts and so much more!

Camp operates Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:00pm.

Camp Rate - $125/week (Full-Time Option Only)

A Security deposit of $50 is required for each full-time week your child/ children are registered. This deposit should be sent no later than 2 weeks after receiving a confirmation email to secure their place(s). This deposit must be emailed to melanie@unityrec.ca and will be deducted off the overall payment which is due the Friday prior to each week of camp.

Camp fees will be invoiced weekly the week prior to camp, and are due the Friday prior to camp operating, unless otherwise requested.

SUMMER CAMP 2025

Come join us for the most epic summer at UniTy Recreation

Unity is getting set to offer Summer camps again this year. Our Camp is being offered on a weekly basis (Monday-Friday) to children going into Kindergarten 2025 through to Grade 6.

Ensure you give your child the summer camp experience they deserve. Children will participate in a variety of recreational activities to ensure they remain entertained the whole day through.

Some of our activities include Dodgeball, Playground Visits, Field Games, Water Play, Agriculture experiences, Nature walks, Group Games, Bouncy castles, Scavenger hunts, Arts & Crafts and so much more!

Our overall summer camp theme will be Homegrown Roots, and each weekly theme will touch on different elements of our own Newfoundland Culture and how it relates to the children of our beautiful province and communities! This will be achieved through play, creativity, activities and exploration which we are sure your children will enjoy! The more we get to know the kids within our programs at UniTy the more engaging and relatable we are able to make our offerings to the community. Each activity planned for this summer camp was inspired by the children we see at UniTy each day.

As we grow we see a need for older age groups to have time to be big kids, so we will have dedicated time each day where we will split the campers into age groups for activities and lunches!

We are positive this year will be the best summer at UniTy yet, whether your children are signed up for one week or all nine! We cannot wait to have them join us for a fun filled summer here at UniTy’s Summer Camp!

I’m Alexandria, a second-year social work student at MUN, professional snack distributor, chaos coordinator, and bringer of bad dance moves! I’ve worked with youth in various settings and can’t wait to turn UniTy’s Summer Camp into a whirlwind of giggles, games, and glitter glue (optional, but encouraged). I’m big on keeping things safe, silly, and super inclusive.

Fun fact: I’m happiest with a backpack on my shoulders, a hiking trail ahead of me, and (as you can see) a baby goat in my arms! Can’t wait for a summer full of giggles, games, and memories!”
